Well aside of the platform turning 10 this month, Instagram introduced a host of new features but amongst all, some of its new features are interesting and absolutely brilliant. They are Stories Map and two well-being updates that enable you to hide potentially offensive comments.
The all-new feature of Stories Map stands to be a private map and calendar of the stories which you have shared in the last 3 years. The users can share, download and save these stories to highlights.
Another great feature that Instagram is introducing that will automatically hide comments similar to others that have been reported by a user. These comments can be viewed by tapping “View Hidden Comments”. Comments that violate community guidelines will continue to be removed, said Instagram.
And through the Nudge feature, Instagram will send an added warning when people repeatedly try to post comments that might be offensive.
Twitter has reportedly started testing a new feature that will cause its users to ponder over the articles before they tweet which they have not read. The platform started testing it in June for Android and has now decided to bring it to iOS as well. The company also says that the feature will show up on every article regardless of the content or publisher.
In line with Zuckerberg’s vision of assimilating its apps one or the other way, Facebook has recently announced that it is merging Instagram DMs with Facebook’s messenger platform. Essentially, users who use Messenger app will be able to reach others on Instagram without downloading a new app and vice versa. To know more: https://www.futureadymedia.com/whats-new-in-the-world-of-social-media.php
